IGIST starts ArcGIS extension development for Defense Intelligence Agency. |

|

The DIA has a large number of users that need a quicker way to deal with coordinate information that may be acquired off paper maps or through GPS. IGIST was contracted to generate the Layer Wizard Analyst for ArcGIS 8.3. This will allow a more robust and flexible entry of coordinate data as layers in ArcMap. |

ArcGIS training has traditionally been done centrally in CALTRANS Sacramento office. Now they are adopting a more efficient delivery of training onsite using IGIST as an ESRI Authorized Instructor. IGIST will begin to give courses in Irvine. |

BLM invited their GIS specialists from Arizona to be a part of custom course that introduced them to ArcGIS. As well they were able to network about statewide needs and form some preliminary strategies to addressing their migration to Geodatabase. |

The City of Burbank is starting to disseminate ArcGIS software and skills to several departments. This is the 3rd in a series of ArcGIS courses that IGIST has given onsite. |

IGIST is selected by Clark County, NV to develop custom Geodatabase training |
|
|
|
Clark County is the central data repository for all users within the county. The move to Geodatabase will impact many agencies in their timeline and ability to use the newest ESRI data format. IGIST will be leading the county by developing some prototype models using Clark County data and instructing users in the region on how to perform many of their data migration tasks. |

IGIST presents papers and workshops at BLM’s National Resource Tools Conference. |
|
|
|
This conference is an annual gathering of BLM professionals nationwide to discuss technology needs related to GIS. IGIST was an exhibitor as well as a presenter of workshops and papers dealing with Geodatabase, Spatial Modeling, and Georeferencing in ArcMap. |

IGIST is asked to provide six ArcGIS courses for the BLM nationwide. |
|
|
|
BLM is acting in a proactive manner to provide training for its vast resource base. Rather than train one person at a time independently, they use the model to get an entire office on board with new tools by having onsite training. IGIST will be visiting 6 field offices in the West and performing ArcGIS courses with some customization using client data. |

IGIST begins geodatabase training development for BLM’s National Training Program. |

BLM has a massive undertaking to convert their existing ArcInfo Coverages and ArcView Shapefiles to the Geodatabase. In order to facilitate this process with a coordinated effort, IGIST is performing a preliminary needs assessment to produce user-defined standards. This will be formed into a course that will give field and state offices instruction on modeling procedures, conversion techniques, and geodatabase interaction. |
