Many people aspire to geographic analysis in GIS but run out of time to perform it. With many GIS departments not performing analysis, one of the main points of our industry is lost.  We encourage our clients to stop limiting their GIS software to data maintenance. Instead we try to help them define the questions that are the justification for the generation of data products that present answers.

This should go beyond the standard printed map and is usually the default output from GIS. The tools exist to make several complementary products: database links, reports, time series animations, and applied spatial models.  IGIST will look to incorporate any number of these to put the client in a position to make informed and defensible decisions.
