June/2012   The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) has contracted IGIST to create a development NMCRIS Web Mapping Server using Amazon Web Services.

Currently DCA hosts their own production server of their NMCRIS Web Mapping Service. But the cost of hosting and supporting new servers and software is forcing them to look at other alternatives. IGIST has setup a mirrored Web Map Service through Amazon Web Services (AWS). We manage this on an EC2 instance and can use this site for development of new functionality without interfering with the production instance.

May/2012   Indian Health Services has contracted IGIST to provide certified ESRI instruction.

IGIST provided ArcGIS instruction to the regional headquarters in Albuquerque. Students attended from various parts of the country to learn to support their local GIS programs.

Apr/2012   The The Sacramento Council of Governments has tasked IGIST to work on GIS data assimilation and map products for STAA route planning in the central California region.

The central California region is undergoing planning efforts to clearly demarcate their STAA routes which allow heavy duty truck traffic access to their freight destinations. The Surface Transportation Assistance Act (STAA) has required that federal and local jurisdictions participate in the planning process to assign STAA route status to areas that require truck traffic. IGIST is managing the GIS data that has been accumulated from 6 different agencies and forming the data into a single standard GIS database that is capable of supporting the regions planning efforts.

Mar/2012   University of New Mexico Continuing Education has contracted IGIST to provide ongoing ESRI Certified Instruction.

UNM is interested in supporting its GIS certificate program and is using a blend of certified and custom GIS training to prepare students to enter the workforce. They are using IGIST's senior instructor for ESRI certified and custom training to add to its program.

Feb/2012   The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs has awarded IGIST to an ArcServer Enhancements contract to upgrade their NMCRIS Web Map Service.

Contracted Archaeologists and Architects around New Mexico are fully using the NMCRIS system. IGIST has responded to new user needs to program new enhancements into the Web Map Services and the SQL Server database.

Jan/2012   The Port of Long Beach has tasked IGIST to develop their sign database through GPS data collection.

Recent federal requirements are forcing local jurisdictions to adhere to sign retroreflectivity standards to ensure that signs are clearly readable. IGIST developed the GPS data collection procedures and ongoing GIS database management protocol to receive data for nearly 5000 signs in the Port's jurisdiction. IGIST gave training on these methods using Trimble GPS systems and ESRI mapping software.
